It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go.... But while the run up to the holidays can be a lot of fun, it can also be pretty frenetic -so the good news is that there's plenty in the pages ahead that you can quietly enjoy with your feet up and a cuppa (or perhaps something a little stronger) in hand! Before you do, though, I have a little more to share with you...
While wrapping up this issue I've just learnt that the Hornby Group is recruiting for a new Development Manager for the Corgi brand (a full job description is posted on our Facebook page. I don't know about you, but I think this is exciting news and yet another indication that CEO Lyndon Davies' turn-around plan for the company is gathering momentum. Change is certainly afoot, but the other interesting move I've been made aware of is currently still under embargo, so that's a revelation that will have to keep for a few more weeks - in print at least...
We are, of course, able to post stories that break in between issues on Facebook. If you have internet access but haven't visited us there yet, please do. As well as being able to browse lots of extra hobby-related content, such as picture galleries and video clips we obviously can't include in the magazine, you'll also find it a friendly and informal cyber-cafe in which to chat with fellow enthusiasts and yours truly!
Social media gets a lot of bad press, but I think you simply have to find your tribe. There are some genuinely lovely people out there. On the subject of getting lucky, our sample of Automodello's fabulous new 1:24 scale Ford Mustang II Concept is up for grabs this month, and we've got another fantastic prize draw, courtesy of DNA Collectibles, lined-up for you in the January 2018 issue, which goes on sale on December 21 - so be sure not to miss it amidst all the festive chaos!
For now, though, enjoy your read!
