Flying Cow!:
The heading this paragraph might set off discussion on "pub" names out we can assure you that nothing is farther from our minds. No, as a matter of fact we're rather pleased with this effort, we had a good deal of fun building up the scene for, of course, it is only a built-up scene and not part of a layout as might at first be thought. It all started when Charles Oates made himself a cattle pen (that's it in the picture) after he got hold of some " Merit" cows which needed restraining, and, having made the necessary equipment we had to see what it would look like in service. The result is here for you to see and next month, we shall be giving the low-down on how to build' the pen. By the way, what do you think of the doctored Hornby-Dublo cattle wagon? Surprising what a touch of whitening can do to " muck " things up a bit!
Birthday:
WITH this issue Constructor's Review celebrates its first " birthday. The fact that it has appeared month by month without a break is evidence of its popularity. Indeed, the reviews have become synonymous with " fair dealing " and we have received a large number of letters throughout the year complimenting us upon the honest approach that has been shown. We feel that the Constructor can rightly claim to be leader in this field. From the outset we made up our minds that we would not allow " business interests" to influence the write-ups upon the products reviewed. We believe that readers appreciate an honest assessment of goods available and, with Constructor's Review, they get just this. We have been very pleased to note that the Trade also appreciates the honest intent and has shown a very fine co-operation in forwarding goods to us. Constructor's Review will continue to give a straightforward account in the year ahead.
NEW "REGULAR."
Last month, along with the new cover design, we offered the first of what, we believe, will become a much looked-for " regular." We refer to the Plans Page. We have decided to make this a monthly feature and the second of this series appears on page VII. We do not intend to confine ourselves to vehicles and in the future we hope to deal with various items in the building range. Readers who have any particular ideas on this matter are invited to write to us as the main object is to give as much help as possible.
