Front cover: This year, Scottish tourism will have to make do without the popular loco-hauled trains that have supplemented basic services on scenic routes. Some compensation though is offered by restoration of the Fort William-Mallaig steam workings. There are also hopes that loco-hauled services might reappear for 1996. On 12 July 1994, the 1705 Inverness-Kyle is seen at Erbusaig, just north of Kyle, worked by 37428 at the head of a mixture of Mk2 Regional Railways' and special liveried stock.
