On the front: Welcome back No. 47845 - re-incarnated as Class S7/3 No. 57301 Scott Tracy. It is the first of 12 Thunderbird' locomotives ostensibly for Virgin Trains, but which can also be used by other operators. Full credit to Virgin Trains for entering into the spirit and actually naming these 12 after Thunderbird' characters! The Class 57/3 sub-class differs from the prototype Class 57/6, primarily its higher horsepower - 2,750hp. Picture: Philip Sutton, courtesy Virgin Trains.
