COVER: Blue at Barrow Hill: Recently repainted Class 20 No. 20096, Class 46 No. 46035 and Class 40 No. 40135 are pictured outside the roundhouse on October 4th. The event was a resounding success (see centre spread on page 30/31).
CONTENTS PAGE IMAGE: Barrow Hill has become a popular venue for photographers and not surprising in view of its architectural heritage. More than one photographic . charter event has taken place and the latest one was on the evening prior to the ‘1980s in Blue’ gala on November 5th/6th. Positively oozing with atmosphere is this nostalgic view showing two ‘Peaks’ at rest; on the left with steam heat escaping, No. 45060 Sherwood Forester, resident of Barrow Hill, whilst on the right is Class 46 No. 46035 from Pete Waterman’s stable at Crewe.
