COVER: Blue at Barrow Hill: Recently repainted Class 20 No. 20096, Class 46 No. 46035 and Class 40 No. 40135 are pictured outside the roundhouse on October 4th. The event was a resounding success (see centre spread on page 30/31).

CONTENTS PAGE IMAGE: Barrow Hill has become a popular venue for photographers and not surprising in view of its architectural heritage. More than one photographic . charter event has taken place and the latest one was on the evening prior to the ‘1980s in Blue’ gala on November 5th/6th. Positively oozing with atmosphere is this nostalgic view showing two ‘Peaks’ at rest; on the left with steam heat escaping, No. 45060 Sherwood Forester, resident of Barrow Hill, whilst on the right is Class 46 No. 46035 from Pete Waterman’s stable at Crewe. More images on pages 30/31. Picture: Jason Cross.
