STOP PRESS:
A mass reinstatement took place on October 4th, 11 in total, all from the WNSS pool. Nine Class 37s were reinstated to Crewe's WKAD pool, these were (current locations in brackets), 37065 (OC) 37294 (BS) 37422 (CF) 37425 (CF) 37429 (TO) 37708 (IM) 37710(00 37712 (OC) and 37890 (OC). The other two, 37409 (ML) and 37410 (TO) were reinstated to Motherwell's WK.AM pool. These reinstatements allowed for the displacement of the active 37/5s based at Crewe DMD and Motherwell into the WKSN pool for this autumn’s sandite workings.

Contents Page Photo: Harry Needle Railroad Company’s staff at Barrow Hill have spent many weeks rebuilding Class 37 No. 37194 to a high standard. On September 11th the loco ran light engine from Barrow Hill to Hams Hall for its test run (seen here at Burton-on-Trent) to work the 6L72 GBRf service to Felixstowe as far as Peterborough, No. 66708 being the ‘insurance’. A minor blower motor electrical fault saw No. 37194 put on the rear of the train at Grantham. It has since returned to Barrow Hill for remedial attention.
