Railway of the Month: Parbourne & Floyd Bridge - Jerry O'Reilly began this N gauge branch line layout, depicting a rural terminus and wayside halt, in the 1970s but recently revamped and upgraded it to suit modern times and techniques. Scale Drawings: GNoSR T Class 4-4-0 - Pickersgill locomotives for the Great North of Scotland Railway, which became the D41s under the LNER. Tim Rayner provides the history, David Malton the drawings. Bramblewick - This North Eastern layout in P4 showcases the modelling skills of the late Tom Harland. Steve Barnfield, of the operating crew, presents this swansong. Burntwood Lane - Geoff Endacott of the Bentley Model Railway Group describes this 4mm scale layout, set in Southern Electric territory on a Surrey branch line, which uses the Caterham route as its inspiration. Plan of the Month: Town and Country - With the arrival of ready-to-run coaches and wagons (and the development of R-T-R locos), this plan - based on a new exhibition layout - will inspire a move into 009. Tim Rayner outlines the possibilities Features: Ashbourne (Park Road) - An extensive 0-16.5 layout, inspired by a couple of northern narrow gauge systems, set in Derbyshire and built by members of the Trent Valley Group of the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association. Parkside LMS brake van - A new injection moulded plastic kit for 7mm scale, based on a long-lived former Midland Railway design, constructed and described by Craig Tiley. A Toad in M - Richard Bardsley was prompted to carry out this N gauge Great Western brake van project after seeing one of David Tisdale's 00 examples in RM June 2012. Jackson Bridge - Members of the Sheffield Model Railway Enthusiasts built this 00 gauge layout, which represents a 'might have been' through router-set amongst the branch lines in west Yorkshire. GWR 'Stella' 2-4-0 - Mike Flemming converted a 00 gauge Mainline 'Dean Goods' to produce this attractive Dean 2-4-0 for his layout which is set in Victorian times. Chesham on Sunday - Chris Hyde modelled this outpost of the Metropolitan in 00 on the strength of an RM article from 1997, and describes how he motorises EFE tube trains. Water Head Gas Works - Phil Marshall built this compact layout in 00 to represent the days of the small-town gas plant, long before North Sea supplies were brought ashore. Who's driving your locos? - Craig Tiley shows you how to add engine crews to a variety of steam and diesel models - including the If 'milkman' Blue Pullman drivers. A simple train storage idea - Roger Merry postulates an inexpensive cassette storage system without track, which works in conjunction with a re-railing device.
