FRONT COVER - Illustrating our data-and-detail feature on the Bulleid "Merchant Navy" Pacifies, No35005 Canadian Pacific strides away from Rothley with a Great Central Railway service for Leicester North. Andrew Naish's "MM" completed its restoration in 1990 and swiftly became a stalwart of the GCR fleet. The past year, however, has seen Canadian Pacific showing its paces at other venues, including the East Lancashire Railway, Didcot Railway Centre, the Mid-Hants Railway and the Birmingham Railway Museum. With No35027 Port Line undergoing repairs, CP is currently the only working "Merchant Navy" but is scheduled to be joined in traffic by No35028 Clan Line in September. And to think there are still another eight of Oliver Bulleid's finest in various stages of restoration.
