The full size plan from this issue is
also available as a separate item:
This model was designed following a whole series of delta winged aircraft, the two main attributes of which were their compact size and an ability to perform well in less than ideal conditions - an important consideration for any model to be flown within the UK!
I wanted to combine these practical features with a simple to construct and rugged model that would be that little bit different from the usual sports/intermediate model. A 'jet' style was chosen to maintain some of the delta's attributes, but with improved appearance. However, many swept-wing designs have a nasty tendency to tip-stall at low speeds, so to overcome this the wing features plenty of washout and has a progressive section change from the root to the tip. Result was an aircraft which is not only easy to fly, but also great fun, with exemplary low speed manners and an excellent acrobatic ability. Unlike many 'jet' models, it will execute tight loops and turns - so making it ideal for the smaller site.
