Its yellow livery made it one of the most colourful sights on the railway during the early 1960s although it remains debatable as to whether it ever actually carried Stroudley's short-lived so-called improved engine green. On 21st June 1960 it was arranged for JVo.103 to work the 620am mixed train from Kyle of Lochalsh to Dingwall in connection with filming for the Railway Roundabout programme; it is seen here near Strome Ferry in stunning scenery alongside Loch Carron. The Kyle line celebrates the centenary of its completion this year and more views of the Highland lines appear in our colour feature on p666.
