Alan Cathcart has a back to back test of Mick Hemmings' 500cc racing Triumphs. One is the genuine ex Percy Tait Grand Prix machine fromthe Sixties, on which his most famous result was a runner up spot to Agostini's MV at the Belgium Grand Prix of 1969. The other is a replica of the Gary Nixon/ Buddy Elmore Daytona machines from the same period.
Bill Swallow is reunited with his father's genuine G45 Matchless, after many years. Ken Swallow raced this machine in the Fifties and Sixties before selling it on. The bike has never been restored and is a perfect original example. It still runs and looks well and Bill gives an interesting development history of the model plus a riding impression of the actual bike.
v Festival of sidecars - One of Mallory Park's biggest meetings of the season, all sidecars, no solos at all. Sidecars from vintage and Morgans through to classic, Forgotten Era, F350, F2, and the long wheelbased F1 rear engined jobs. The world's top three were present, reigning champion Steve Abbott, Steve Webster and Klaus Klaffenbock, plus the cream of the country's teams from all classes.
World Series - A heavyweight pictorial based round up of the new world classic series, round by round.
Pip Harris - Possibly a two part resume of sidecar star Pip Harris' long career.
The Flying Bedstead - An ingenious three wheeler device built and raced successfully by Australian John Dunscombe, story and images by Jim Skaysbrook.
