Also in this issue, I am very pleased to include an article about Ian Folkson and his family and their success at the 2012 Naviga Offshore World Championship. lan and Katrina are well known and long established on the international power boating scene and their young children are very much part of the team, so their parents have no objections to them all being photographed together at events in the UK and abroad. Indeed, having a young family has spurred Ian on in his quest for success, which at international level is no easy thing to achieve bearing in mind, as he has pointed out, that he is now the oldest competitor at these events, having raced since the early 1970's as a teenager. So, 'never give up' is his motto! John Parker, who supplies the superb feature plan in the Model Boats regular 100 page Winter Special that is our 13th regular Annual Issue and which subscribers automatically receive, starts a new regular monthly series entitled Flotsam and Jetsam, which covers historical items of interest to all model boating enthusiasts.
In addition, there are the usual regulars, including Range Finder, Mooring Post, Boiler Room, Readers' Models, Test Bench, BMPRS News and a Gallery by Fraser Gray of HMS Ocean at Greenwich, so I hope there is something here for everyone.
