CALL SIGN GX - Peter Keyes began his railway career during the Second World War, starting as a telegraph lad at Grantham. He recalls the layout at the station there, and the system of operating as well as the trials and tribulations of learning the job.
A VIEW OF DERBY IN THE 1950s - For enthusiast and photographer Roger Eckersley, Derby station, hub of the Midland, was home territory in the 1950s. With the aid of his own photographs he describes the diverse traffic and locomotive types to be seen there in the last decade of total steam operation.
